In order to suitably counter the naxal movement by the Government, Ministry of Home Affairs Govt. of India decided to establish two Battalions of CoBRA i.e. BN 201 and BN 204 in a forest like contoured land of 311 acres.

The site abutting a road along its longer side has a prominent and secured access from almost the middle of the stretch and leading through a double carriage way roads with central median of impressive green and then the road leading to left towards semi-permanent constructions all barracks, SO's mess, water tank etc. On the right side are Family Quarters of officials and Sub-Ordinate Personnel, GO's mess, Hospital, Primary School, Swimming Pool, Shopping Complex and Gymnasium etc.
